Owner, Rich Hartman, is a Northstate local, born and raised in Chico, Ca. He is a 25-year veteran of law enforcement. For 15 years Rich was a full-time K9 Handler. After spending decades a Police Horse and K9 trainer, Rich began helping members of his community with their dog behavior questions and challenges. Rich is an animal lover and owner. He strongly believes every dog owner should be able to enjoy a stress free relationship with their dog with the use of common sense training that relies on a science based training approach. Rich and his team have trained hundreds of dogs, many of which arrived with substantial behavioral issues such as fear, anxiety, reactivity and aggression.

We train all types of dogs, spanning all breeds, ages and behaviors. We aim to create a stress-free environment for you and your dog by developing calm confidence. We are positive first trainers and strongly believe that dogs should be rewarded for wanted behavior. A dog will seek out desired behaviors if they are rewarded for doing so. Conversely, unwanted behavior should be corrected so your dog clearly understands your expectations. Because we have a clear understanding of Classical and Operant conditioning, we are able to get the most from your dog with a science-based approach.
